Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria. Being
a town with more than 7000 years of history, it is considered to
be a place where for many centuries the traditions, customs and
folklore of the nationalities, living on the Balkans have been preserved.
In this town of almost 1000 000 inhabitants live and work fruitfully
representatives of 60 ethnographic regions of Bulgaria.

All of them have created their
own Cultural House,
Clubs, art collectives. In Sofia take place quite many events
related to preservation of the folk art and traditions.
One of the best and most appreciated ones is, in its second
edition already, the folk festival Sofia Spring.

The founders of Sofia Spring festival are
the Bulgarian National Cultural Houses Centre, Europe Foundation,
Sofia Municipality. The festival is strongly supported by the Ministry
of Culture, Bulgaria.
